Frequently Asked Questions

  • Rates vary based on the level of effort involved and professional expertise. Massage therapy is physically demanding work, and after 13 years of practice, my pricing reflects both the quality of care as well as the time, and energy each session requires.

  • Yes, absolutely. I offer direct billing for select insurance providers to make things simpler. Regardless of your coverage, every session includes a detailed receipt that can be submitted for reimbursement.

  • I completely understand that life happens, illness or emergencies can arise unexpectedly. However, missed appointments have a real impact on my schedule and other clients who might have wanted that time.

No matter the reason, a $20 administration fee is applied for any cancellation or rescheduling made within 24 hours of your appointment.

If the appointment is missed entirely or cancelled with very short notice, an additional late cancellation fee may apply: up to 100% of the session fee, depending on the circumstances and notice given.

Thank you for understanding and respecting this policy; it helps keep my schedule running smoothly for everyone.

  • In Ontario, massage therapy is currently classified as a taxable service, while acupuncture is considered a healthcare treatment, which makes it HST-exempt.

This difference isn’t about the therapeutic value — it’s simply how each profession is categorized under federal tax legislation. The Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario (RMTAO) continues to advocate for massage therapy to be recognized as a healthcare service, which would remove HST from treatments.

It’s a slow process, but there’s hope that change will come in the future.
